Axinite is a group name for several closely related minerals and has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale. It can be found in varying shades of brown, grey and black. Rarely, this stone can be purple, blue, green, yellow and orange in colour. It has a reflective quality similar to glass (Vitreous luster).
Axinite is known as the stone of truth. It
is said to stimulate the mind and help with recall as well as assisting with
focus, clarity and to find creative solutions.
Axinite is said to reduce fear so that we
can face our thoughts and strive for independence. As a result, it is a perfect
stone when experiencing change and transformation. For seniors facing life
changes or young adults moving off to college or university, this is an
excellent stone to add to their collection.
