AQUAMARINE - PISCES



Now that we are in the sign of Pisces we thought we would highlight the Pisces birthstones also known as the sunstones which are aquamarine, amethyst, sapphire, jade, bloodstone and clear quartz.  The talisman for Pisces is ruby.

Today we are highlighting Aquamarine which is from the Beryl family.  Aquamarine comes by its lovely greeny or sea blue colour from iron impurities in the colourless, glassy beryl crystal. It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale.  Aquamarine is also one of the sunstones of Gemini and the birthstone for the month of March.

Aquamarine helps us to calmly speak our truth and to have courage. The keyword for Aquamarine is courage.  It brings us hope and helps us to experience peace. 

Aquamarine can help us move forward with positive changes in life by releasing events of the past.

Aquamarine is associated with the Throat Chakra.

AGATE



Agate is a banded stone which makes it stand out from any other Chalcedony. It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.

Agate is a slow and lower vibrational stone.  Sure but steady, its energies will take time to manifest but will have wonderful long term benefits. This protecting and harmonizing stone is known for its ability to help us relieve anxiety and stress

Agate is a stone of balance and strength and its energies assist in emotional healing.  Its energy is also said to strengthen the body as well as to helps us with our connection to the earth (grounding).

This is a beneficial stone for students and artists as it promotes creativity.

Emotionally, Agate gives courage, self-confidence, and helps to dispels fear.

All Agate, and there are far too many to list here, can remove blockages from all chakras and are cleansing.

BY THE SEA - Mother of Pearl, Pearl, Abalone, Aquamarine and Shell



With Canadian getaway season upon us, we thought it only fitting to highlight our “By The Sea” pendant and earrings.  We have created a variety of stones and shells with gratitude for the warmth and waters.

Mother of Pearl is an aid to heighten intuition, psychic sensitivity, and imagination. It attracts prosperity and good fortune.

Pearl enables us to accept love and to see the good within us and within others.

Aquamarine marine may not come from the waters but it is a perfect reflection of the colour of water. This stone helps us to calmly speak our truth and to have courage. The keyword for Aquamarine is Courage. It brings us hope and helps us to experience peace.

BALTIC AMBER



Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin but it is used in jewellery as is any other crystal, mineral or stone. .  Its hardness ranges from 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale. 

When amber is worn against the skin, the nugget or bead is warmed and releases small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid). The oils are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and are an analgesic used for pain.

Baltic Amber also assists with varicose vein and increases blood circulation.


Baltic Amber is used today to help children with the discomfort of teething.  It is well known for its healing energies and has been worn by children for their protection since ancient times.

LARVIKITE UP-CYCLE BRACELET



We are highlighting yet another unique up-cycled bracelet using a beautiful spoon handle design and adding the energies of lovely Larvikite.

Larvikite contains a high percentage of the mineral anorthoclase but also contains feldspar which gives it the blue reflective qualities.  Larvikite has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.

Larvikite is a grounding and protective stone originating from Norway (also known as Black Labradorite or Norwegian Moonstone).

It is said to enhance our visions and psychic abilities.  Larvikite stimulates the mind.  It assists us with understanding, with spiritual clarity and to open our minds to new ideas without emotional attachment.

PEARL BRACELET UP-CYCLE



We are highlighting another style of our pearl up-cycled or repurposed bracelets.  Lovely designed handles can be adorned with any type of bead depending on your preferences.  All of our jewellery is commissioned and you have as much input into the style of your creation of you would like.

Again, today’s creation has been adorned with pearls which are a growth formed within the shell of a pearl oyster or other types of mollusk. 

In Astrology, it is said that anyone with a misaligned moon should wear jewellery made of pearls. By doing so, it is said that love with be enhanced and trust with spouse or partner will be built.   Pearls have been referred to as the tears of the Moon.

APOPHYLLITE PENDANT



Apophyllite is the general name for the grouping of three sub classifications - Fluorapophyllite, Hydroxyapophyllite and Natroapophyllite.  Apophyllite has a hardness of 4.5 to 5 and usually comes in the pyramid form.  Apophyllite can come in a variety of colours but the most popular is clear.

Apophyllite is said to carry the Akashic Record and is a powerful vibration transmitter. 

Apophyllite is a must with Reiki healing.

Apopyllite is a wonderful tool for developing intuition and its energies are inspirational. This is the ideal tool when working with the higher chakras.  Apopyllite is invaluable when working with the third eye and Crown Chakras as it is predominantly a spiritual crystal.

FEBRUARY – BLOODSTONE



As mentioned yesterday, Bloodstone is one of the birthstones for February.  Amethyst being the other birthstone and the most well known.

Bloodstone is the mineral Heliotrope which is a variety of Jasper or chalcedony.  Bloodstone has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.

Jasper, as a whole, in ancient times, was worn by shamans and kings as it is a powerful protection stone and helps to ground.

Jasper is known as the supreme nurturer and its energy is slow and continual.

Bloodstone specifically draws strength and vitality and assists us in being loving and compassionate. It assists with courage, living in the moment and calming the mind.

Bloodstone can assist with the clarity when trying to make good decision as it helps to clear impatience and aggressiveness from the scenario. 

Bloodstone is said to cleanse our energy as well as our blood.  It benefits blood rich organs and circulation.  It is a powerful healer.

Bloodstone is associated with the lower chakras.

AMETHYST – February Birthstone



Amethyst and Bloodstone are the two birthstones of February.  The traditional birthstone is Amethyst.  Within the month of February, we will experience both Aquarius and Pisces sun signs.  Recently we highlighted Amethyst as it is the birthstone/sunstone of Aquarius.  There are several other birthstone/sunstones for Aquarius which we touched on last week.  At the end of the months we will look a little closer to the birthstone/sunstones of Pisces.

We are again going to highlight Amethyst which as mentioned last week is from the quartz family and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. 

Amethyst is one of the most popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.

Amethyst is a stone associated with calm, sincerity, protection and purification.  

Amethyst's energies are also associated with the psychic realm.

Amethyst comes from the Greek word methustos which can be translated as intoxicated. This stone has been used for centuries in association with sobriety and is also used for other addictions.  It is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings. (Oh yet another good reason to highlight Amethyst)

In healing, Amethyst is not only used on those being healed but also is worn by the healer as its energies heal the healer.

Physically, Amethyst is said to assist with headaches as well as assists and stimulates the immune system.

Amethyst is associates with the crown chakra.

PINK OPAL – AQUARIUS



With our focus on Aquarius, we are going to finish off the first week with one more birthstone/sunstone - Opal.  As stated earlier in the week, Aquarius has several birthstones, also called sunstones or zodiac stones, including amethyst (see our earlier post from this week), garnet, moss agate, opal and sugilite.   Jasper is the talisman for Aquarius (again see our post from yesterday) and turquoise is the planetary stone.

Our highlighted stone, Pink Opal has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale and is a blend of opal, palygorskite and chalcedony.

Pink Opal is a stone of hope, purity and health. It is the healer of emotions and is the stone for faithful lovers. This stone enhances our emotions as well as our spiritual self.  Pink Opal assists in keeping us centred and calm. 

Used in meditation and with dreams, Pink Opal helps to arouse compassion and allow us to release painful memories.

It has even been referred to as the stone of the Gods. 

Pink Opal is associated with the heart chakra.
