Today’s highlighted stone is called African Turquoise. African Turquoise is not true turquoise but is teal Jasper mined in Africa. It has the same structure and colour tones as turquoise. African Turquoise has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale and can range in colour from emerald to teal blue. The word “Turquoise” is derived from French and is translated as “Turkish Stone”.
African Turquoise is known as a
transformational and evolutionary stone.
It is said to assists us in moving forward and being open to new ideas
and concepts. It is said to help us open to change, growth and new
possibilities.
African Turquoise is associated with
wisdom.
