SAGITTARIUS ZODIAC BIRTHSTONE - SAPPHIRE



As mentioned earlier this week, the Zodiac sign Sagittarius has five different stones, ruby, topaz, amethyst, sapphire, and turquoise.   Sapphire is our highlighted stone for today. 

Ruby is the red variety of the mineral Corundum and Sapphire is the blue variety.We are focusing on the gemstone Sapphire is the blue variety of the mineral corundum (ruby is the red variety).  Sapphire has a hardness of 9 on the MOHS scale.

Sapphire is known as the stone of wisdom and brings peace of mind.  This is the stone of prophecy.

Sapphire aligns the physical, mental and spiritual.

Sapphire is associated with love and purity and helps us to stay on our spiritual path.

Sapphire calms and regulates the body. It treats disorders associates with the blood and strengthens
veins.

Sapphire is also the Sunstone of Taurus and the modern birthstone of September.

Sapphire is primarily associated with the third chakra but is also associated with the throat chakra.

SAGITTARIUS ZODIAC BIRTHSTONE - RUBY



The Zodiac sign Sagittarius has five different stones, ruby, topaz, amethyst, sapphire, and turquoise.   Today, we will highlight the precious gemstone Ruby. 

Ruby is the red variety of the mineral Corundum and Sapphire is the blue variety.  Essentially, Ruby is a red Sapphire and it has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale.

Ruby is the birthstone of July and one of the sunstones of Cancer as well. 

It is rare to find ruby on its own in metaphysically jewellery pieces.  Frequently it is found in Zoisite (a green stone).  Ruby in Zoisite is known as Anyolite. 

Ruby is a very powerful stone.   It is said to help us shake off limitations and promotes joy, courage and strength.  It promotes enthusiasm and enthusiasm in turn helps us to truly live life.  This stone is suggested during times of exhaustion. 

Over the centuries, Ruby has been used as a shield against negative energies.

Ruby is said to promote love and amplifies energy.  It is a talisman for sex and love.

It stimulates the base or root chakra.

NOVEMBER TALISMAN - AMETHYST



Amethyst is the talisman stone for November.

Amethyst is the purple variety from the quartz family and can range from light to dark purpose and from clear purple to a solid colour.  The clear gem grade Amethyst is the most popular version of the mineral.  Amethyst, as with all quartz has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale. 

Amethyst is one of the most popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.

Amethyst is a stone associated with sincerity, protection and purification.  

Amethyst's energies are also associated with the psychic realm.

Amethyst comes from the Greek word methustos which can be translated as intoxicated. This stone has been used for centuries in association with sobriety and is also used for other addictions.  It is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings.

In healing, Amethyst is not only used on those being healed but also is worn by the healer as its energies heal the healer.

Physically, Amethyst is said to assist with headaches as well as assists and stimulates the immune system.

Amethyst is the sunstone for the Astrological sign of Pisces and traditionally is the birthstone for the month of February and again, is the talisman of November.

NUUMMITE

Nuummite is mainly made up of gedrite and anthophyllite and may contain chalcopyrite, pyrite, and pyrrhotine. In appearance it is very similar to Larvikite. Nuummite has a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale and originates in Greenland.
Nuummite is known as the Sorcerer's stone and is used as a talisman. It is famed to assist with clairvoyance, intuition and to increase synchronicity.
This is the stone of choice to work your own personal magic and for manifesting. It will guide you on your life’s journey and help you to be “in the moment”.
Nuummite can assist in harnessing your inner power in order to get the job done. Be prepared to allow all that you have buried to come to the surface so that these issues can be faced and dealt with once and for all.

ROSE QUARTZ – SWIRLED IN LOVE


Today’s featured set is Enhancing Adornment’s “Swirled in Love” Rose Quartz today set.  This is the stone of self-love.

Rose quartz is actually the stone of all love - love for others AND yes, love for self. It is a crystal of high energy and unconditional love for any situation. 

Rose quartz is used for self-esteem and self-worth. Its loving energies teach us to apply this love to ourselves. This in turn assists us with our own self-worth.

Rose quartz is calming and perfect for crisis.  It helps us to learn to accept change and to deal with unexpressed emotions and grief.

Rose quartz is beneficiary for the female reproductions system and has been worn to assist fertility.

Rose quartz is associated with the heart chakra.

Rose quartz as suggested by its name is a member of the Quartz family and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.  The colour is usually muted but occasionally can be found as a vivid pink. Rose quartz is generally not treated.

NOVEMBER MYSTIC STONE - PEARL


 
As mentioned earlier last week, November birthstones are Topaz and Citrine. 

The Mystic stone for November is Pearl.  Today our highlighted piece is an up-cycled or repurposed bracelet adorn with pearls.  Pearls are a growth formed within the shell of a pearl oyster or other types of mollusk. 

In Astrology, it is said that anyone with a misaligned moon should wear jewellery made of pearls. By doing so, it is said that love will be enhanced and trust with spouse or partner will be built.   Pearls have been referred to as the tears of the Moon.

Pearls have been traditionally used to assist with sex drive. 

Pearls enable us to accept love and to see the good within us and within others. 

Pearls are the jewellery of choice for brides due to their association with partnerships and love.

Pearls are associated with the heart chakra.

NOVEMBER - CITRINE



As mentioned earlier this week, November birthstones are Topaz and Citrine. 

The Mystic stone for November is Pearl.  Scorpio’s planetary stone is Garnet and its talisman is Amethyst.  Beryl is the Zodiac stone for November.

Today we will highlight Citrine.

Citrine has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and is from the quartz family. The colour of citrine can vary from light yellow to a light orange-yellow. Most citrine on the market is heated amethyst which may have been treated naturally by Mother Nature or may have been treated by we humans.  Heated Amethyst, sold as citrine, can range in colour from dark yellow to a dark red-yellow.  Smokey quartz can also be treated to turn yellow. According to minerals.net, all heat-treated “citrine” has a red tint. Very light natural Citrine can be marketed and sold under the name of “Lemon Quartz”. 

True Citrine’s energies are associated with abundance and it is known as the success stone.  It is also associated with happiness. 

Citrine increases and clarifies personal power and energy.

Citrine is used to remove toxins and is said to be helpful with overcoming addictions.

It should be noted that Citrine may intensify aggressiveness in some individuals.

Citrine is connected to the Solar Plexus chakra

NOVEMBER STONE - TOPAZ



November birthstones are Topaz and Citrine.

Today we will focus on Topaz.

Topaz is a gemstone with a hardness of 8.  Pure Topaz naturally occurs as white but comes in a variety of colours.  Blue topaz is generally a paler blue but come in a variety of shades.  Blue Topaz is a very popular stone second only to Sapphire.

Topaz, blue in particularly, is said to assist in strengthening a strong body which seems to come natural to a Scorpio individual but this is just added boost.  We would naturally associate Blue Topaz to the throat chakra for clearer and stronger communications but it is also associated with the third eye chakra so it assists with the thinking mind and strengthens the thought process.

Blue Topaz is known as the visualization stone.   Topaz is also associates with friendship and loyalty.
