PYRITE



Pyrite is made of iron sulfide and can also contain small amounts of cobalt, nickel, silver, and gold. Pyrite has hardness of 6 to 6.5.  Pyrite’s metallic luster has given rise to its nickname “Fools Gold”.  However, Pyrite is often found in gold deposits.

Pyrite is a stone of protection and has been used as a talisman for protection and well being.  It is associated with self-esteem, confidence and willpower.

Pyrite inspires creativity in many areas including the arts and areas of study that require perfection. Pyrite stimulates commitment, ambition and perseverance. This is an ideal stone for students but also for the student’s Mother.

Physically, Pyrite is used to help with viral infections, including colds and flu.

Pyrite is associated with the solar plexus chakra (3rd).
