FLUORITE

Fluorite has a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale and is a form of calcium fluoride.  This mineral can range in colour from clear to black.  Fluorite is naturally clear but impurities are what give Fluorite its range in colour.  The most popular colours in jewellery are purple and then green.

Fluorite is said to provide mental focus, assist in the processing and retention of information.  It has been called the aptitude stone. 

Fluorite is also a highly protective stone used for grounding and balancing spiritually. Fluorite increases intuitive abilities and links us to the universal conscious energies when working with our upper Chakras.

ESSENTIAL OIL DIFFUSER PENDANT

CHRYSOCOLLA

Chrysocolla or Chrysacolla is a beautiful blue/green stone with a hardness of 2 to 4 on the Mohs scale.   More often than note, Chrysocolla beads are enhanced with dye but the nuggets are generally natural in colour.  The colour can certainly vary with Chrysocolla however.

Chrysocolla is a peace and harmony stone.  Its energies are gentle and  assist in clarity and using discretion when making important and on the spot stressful decisions.

Clear Crystal quartz is a 7 in hardness on the Mohs scale and is the most common stone found on our planet.  Tourmalinated Quartz is also a 7 and is Clear Quartz containing Tourmaline impurities.  Shungite has a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale of hardness and is believed to be approximately 2 billion years old.

Tourmalated or Tourmalinated Quartz has the properties of both quartz and tourmaline. It is a grounding stone and it assists with the release of tension on all levels. PYRITE

Pyrite is made of iron sulfide and can also contain small amounts of cobalt, nickel, silver, and gold. Pyrite has hardness of 6 to 6.5.  Pyrite’s metallic luster has given rise to its nickname “Fools Gold”.  However, Pyrite is often found in gold deposits.

Pyrite is a stone of protection and has been used as a talisman for protection and well being.  It is associated with self-esteem, confidence and willpower.

Pyrite inspires creativity in many areas including the arts and areas of study that require perfection. Pyrite stimulates commitment, ambition and perseverance. This is an ideal stone for students but also for the student’s Mother.

Physically, Pyrite is used to help with viral infections, including colds and flu.

BALTIC AMBER - HEALING

With disease and healing as my focus today, I am going to take a look at how we can deal with the initial discomfort.  With that in mind, I think of Baltic Amber.

Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin that is used similarly to any other crystal, mineral or stone in jewellery creation.  Its hardness ranges from 2 to 2.5. 

When amber is worn against the skin, the nugget or bead is naturally warmed by our body heat and the bead releases small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid). The oils are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and are an analgesic used for pain. Baltic Amber also assists with varicose vein and increases blood circulation.

Baltic Amber is well known for its healing energies and has been worn by children for their protection since ancient times. Baltic Amber is also ideal for teething toddlers.

SAGITTARIUS SUNSTONE/BIRTHSTONE SAPPHIRE

As mentioned yesterday, the Zodiac sign Sagittarius has several different stones, including ruby, topaz, amethyst, sapphire, and turquoise.   In the past couple of days we have highlighted Beryl, the talisman for Sagittarius and the precious gemstone Ruby. 

Today we will highlight the precious gemstone Sapphire.  It should be noted that Sapphire is the traditional birthstone of September.  Sapphire is a variety of the minerals corundum and aluminum oxide.  It has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale. Sapphire is most commonly blue but can also be yellow, purple, orange, and green.  A red Sapphire is called Ruby.   

Sapphire is known as the stone of wisdom and brings peace of mind.  It is the stone of prophecy.

Sapphire aligns the physical, the mental and the spiritual.

Sapphire calms and regulates the body.

SAPPHIRE TREE OF LIFE

SAGITTARIUS BIRTH OR SUNSTONE - RUBY

The Zodiac sign Sagittarius has five different stones,  ruby, topaz, amethyst, sapphire, and turquoise.   Yesterday, the highlighted Beryl, the talisman for Sagittarius.  Today, we will highlight the precious gemstone Ruby. 

Ruby is the red variety of the mineral Corundum and Sapphire is the blue variety.  Essentially, Ruby is a red Sapphire and it has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale.

Ruby is also the birthstone of July and one of the sunstone of Cancer as well. 

It is rare to find ruby on its own in metaphysically jewellery pieces.  Frequently it is found in Zoisite (a green stone) which is called Anyolite. 

Ruby is a very powerful stone.   It is said to help us shake off limitations and promotes joy, courage and strength.  It promotes enthusiasm and enthusiasm in turn helps us to truly live life.  This stone is suggested during times of exhaustion. 

Over the centuries, Ruby has been used as a shield against negative energies.
