RUBY IN ZOISITE (ANYOLITE)

Zoisite is the green portion of these beads which as a hardness of 6.5 to 7.  The reddish pink inclusions in the beads are Ruby which has a hardness of 9.   Ruby in Zoisite is also known as Anyolite.

Ruby is an energy stone and when combined with Zoisite, it activates the crown chakra and assists in spiritual learning and access to your soul's memory.  This combination is excellent for use in past life work.

MOONSTONE IN HONOUR OF FULL MOON

In honour of the full moon tomorrow evening, we decided to showcase Moonstone today.

Moonstone is a gemstone that belongs to the feldspar group with a hardness of 6 to 6.5.  Moonstone comes in varying colours from clear to pearly white, to peach, to green, to blue, to grey.  Rainbow moonstone can reflect all of these colours and more.

Moonstone is a stone of intuition and emotion.  It highlights feminine energies and assists in soothing stress and stabilizing emotions.  Moonstone is a taliman for love. 

Moonstone teaches us to be gentle with ourselves.

It should be noted, however, that you may need to remove Moonstone jewellery at the full moon as emotions may become overwhelming with the double energies.

BIRD'S NEST WITH BLUE LACE AGATE

KYANITE, ANGELITE & LABRADORITE (blue) (CHOKER)

Kyanite (oval shaped bead) has a hardness of 3.5 to 7 depending on whether it is cut on its long axis or not. It is normally blue in colour but can also be green, grey or white. Kyanite’s colour is generally blotchy and streaked.

Angelite (medium round bead) is a blue/grey variety of Anhydrite and was only recently discovered in Peru in the 1980’s. Angelite has a hardness of 3 to 3.5 which makes it popular for carving.

As its name suggests, Labradorite (small round bead and larger drop bead) was discovered in Labrador, Canada. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5.

The key word for Kyanite could be Balancing, for Angelite the phrase could be Angelic Communications and for Labradorite, transformation.

Kyanite is known to invoke fairness and loyalty. As a result, it is a great choice for repairing relationships, contract negotiations, etc. This is a stone of choice for counselors, mediators and arbitrators. 

Kyanite is known to assist in speaking our truth. Carry Kyanite with you if you are going to be doing any type of public speaking or presentations. Kyanite is a tool used for dream recall, vivid dreaming and channeling.

This bracelet has been created using Sandalwood and Lava stone, and it is centred with a Tibetan Dzi Agate bead.  

Briefly, the Tibetan Dzi Agate (sometimes called Tibetan Onyx) is said to have positive spiritual benefits.   It is used to heal the mind, body and soul.  It is also said to bring wealth in a earthly fashion as well as with health.

Sandalwood is cultivated from the wood of a tree in Indian. Lava stone is also known as Volcanic rock or Basalt and has a hardness of 3 to 3.5.

Tourmalinated Quartz has a hardness of 7 to 7.5. This type of Quartz is embedded with green or black tourmaline needles or threads.

BALTIC AMBER (Colours)

Each bracelet highlighted today shows the varying colours Enhancing Adornments offers in Baltic Amber - Lemon, green, honey/cognac and dark cherry.

Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin but it is used as any other crystal or stone in jewellery.

We are going to finish off the first week of April with the Mystical birthstone for this month which is opal.  As stated earlier in the week, the traditional birthstone of April is Diamond.  There are many other semi precious stones that represent the month as well as Aries and Taurus.  For more details see our earlier posts this week.

Yesterday we highlighted Sapphire, one of the three main birthstones (Diamond, Opal and Sapphire) for the month of April.  There are also semi precious stones, minerals and fossils associated with each month and today we have chosen Coral as our focal stone (fossil) associated with April.

Coral is a skeletal structure which is slowly built by small marine animals. Coral is between 3 and 4 in hardness. Natural coral is generally the colour of Carnelian but most coral used in jewellery has been dyed to enhance the colour. 

Coral is said to aid in meditation, visualization and creativity. As a result, it is a suggested crystal for artists. 

Coral attracts love, passion and prosperity. It also helps us to become balanced and in harmony with nature.

Diamond, Opal and Sapphire are the traditional birthstone of April.  There are many other birthstones associated with this month that are representative of Aries and Taurus including Jasper, Topaz, Bloodstone, Amber and many more.

We are focusing on the gemstone Sapphire today which is a variety of the mineral corundum and aluminum oxide.  It has a hardness of 9.
