Hematite is an iron oxide with trace amounts of titanium. It is a myth that Hematite is magnetic on its own. Hematite is only magnetic if it contains enough magnetite to attract it to a magnet. Hematite has a hardness of 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.
Hematite is used for grounding, enhancing
expansion and protection. It is associated with peace and harmony, and is used metaphysically
to harmonizes the spirit, mind and body.
It is said to stimulate memory,
concentration and focus. It is used to assist with addictions during the inventory
stage of the program.
Physically, Hematite is said to help with
blood supply and is said to be beneficial for leg cramps and anxiety.
Hematite is associated with the root
chakra.
