JASPER – AQUARIUS TALISMAN

 Continuing our focus on Aquarius, Jasper is the talisman for Aquarius which we are highlighting today.

 

Jasper is from the quartz family and has a hardness of between 6.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale. 

 

Jasper, in ancient times, was worn by shamans and kings as it was said to be a powerful protection stone and helps to ground.

 

Jasper is known as the supreme nurturer and its energy is slow and continual. This piece is said to draw strength and vitality and assists us in being loving and compassionate. 

 

Jasper is said to enhance tranquility and helps us to eliminate stress.

 

Red (sometimes called Brown) Jasper has been used to assist when quitting smoking or other addictions as it is used to strengthens the emotional body.

Aquarius sunstone – GARNET

We continue with our focus on the birthstone or sunstones of Aquarius, including amethyst, garnet, moss agate, opal and sugilite.   Jasper is the talisman for Aquarius and turquoise is the planetary stone. 

 

Today we will focus on, Garnet.

 

Garnet has a hardness of 6.5 to 7.5 and has been used in jewellery since the Bronze Age (in the third millennium BC)

 

Garnet is associated with love and passion and is known as the stone of commitment.  Garnet is said to amplify and draw all of the qualities we are looking for in a relationship such as trust and devotion.  It is used for luck with love.

 

Garnet’s energies are used in connection with success and reaching our goals.

 

Physically, Garnet is said to reduce toxins in the body and purifies the blood.

 

Garnet activates and amplifies other crystals.

 

This is an intense stone which stimulates both the crown and the root chakras.

Aquarius - AMETHYST POINT

 Aquarius, our current sun sign, has several birthstones, and zodiac stones which are also called sunstones, including amethyst, garnet, moss agate, opal and sugilite.   Jasper is the talisman for Aquarius and turquoise is the planetary stone. 

 

Today we will focus on Amethyst which is from the quartz family and has a hardness of 7.  Amethyst’s colours can range from a pale pink to a dark purple.  Keep you Amethyst out of direct sunlight as it will fade.  As a side note, this highlighted stone is a Canadian Amethyst.

 

Amethyst is one of the most popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.

 

Amethyst is a stone associated with sincerity, protection and purification.  It is known as a calming stone.

 

Amethyst's energies are also associated with the psychic realm.

 

Amethyst comes from the Greek word methustos which can be translated as intoxicated. This stone has been used for centuries in association with sobriety and is also used for other addictions.  It is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings.

 

In healing, Amethyst is not only used on those being healed but also is worn by the healer for healing.

PINK OPAL – AQUARIUS

ABALONE MOON PHASE BRACELET

Abalone is a calcium carbonate base and is known for its colourful inner shell.  Abalone is a common name for a group of small to very large sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks from the Haliotidae family.

JANUARY MYSTIC STONE - EMERALD

 Today, we are highlighting Emerald, the mystic stone for January.  Emerald is also the precious birthstone for May and the sunstone for Cancer. 

 

Emerald is from the Beryl family and has a hardness of 7.5 to 8.  If the stone is a light green it would be referred to as Green Beryl and if it is a darker green it is referred to as Emerald.

 

Emerald is a stone associated with inspiration and patience. It is known as the stone of successful love. Emerald is used to enhance partnerships, friendships and unconditional love.

 

This is the stone said to be associated with regeneration, recovery and mental clarity.

 

Physically, Emerald is used to rejuvenate the organs. It is known as the stone of choice for assisting with treating the heart. It is also popular for treating and sooth the eyes.

Today we are highlight Garnet, the modern and the traditional birthstone of January.  Emerald is the mystical stone for January.  The two zodiac signs that fall in January are Capricorn with sunstones of Agate, Lapis Lazuli and Ruby, and Aquarius with sunstones of Agate, Amethyst, Opal and Turquoise.  Capricorn’s talisman is Onyx and Aquarius’ talisman is Jasper.
