LABRADORITE

We were commissioned to create a pendant from this lovely Labradorite Cabochon and the client loves swirls.  Such a radiant piece deserved to be wrapped in 925 silver.

As the name suggests, Labradorite was discovered in Labrador, Canada. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.

Labradorite has a wonderful metallic reflective quality when light hits it specific ways and is known for its lovely flashes of colour.  Labradorite has been associated with or compared to the aurora borealis. The pieces in our example today reflect wonderful blue, green and yellow tones.

Labradorite is said to enhance our intuitive and mental abilities as well as our ability to open up to new ideas. This stone is used to assist with dream recall.

Labradorite is a stone of choice for transformation.

Labradorite assists those that use their hands for healing and is associates with the throat chakra.
