Amazonite has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale and is part of the feldspar mineral group. Contrary to its name, Amazonite cannot be found in the Amazon River after which it was named but can be found in other parts of Brazil.
Amazonite is said to be a soothing stone
that balances the male and female energies. It is used to assist in seeing both
sides of all issues and to sooth emotional trauma.
It is known as the stone of courage and
truth.
