BALTIC AMBER

With the trees brilliantly displaying their lovely fall colours, I felt compelled to highlight the very popular Baltic Amber today.  Its brilliant yellows and golds are a perfect reflection of autumn.

Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin that is used similar in the same way as any crystal, mineral or stone with jewellery creation.  Baltic Amber’s hardness ranges from 2 to 2.5.

When amber is worn against the skin, the nugget or bead is naturally warmed by our body and the bead releases small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid). The oils are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and are noted to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation.  These oils are also used as an analgesic for pain. Baltic Amber is said to assists with varicose vein and increases blood circulation.

Baltic Amber is well known for its healing energies and is used for teething toddlers.  Did you know that in ancient times, Baltic Amber was worn by children for their protection?

Metaphysically, Baltic Amber is associated with desire, sensuality and romantic tenderness.   It is said that it was used to find lasting love.

Amber is also used to cleanse and purify areas and can simply be placed in a room or made into an elixir.

Amber reactivates the second Chakra and is used to cleanse all chakras.
