As mentioned yesterday, Bloodstone is one of the birthstones
for February. Amethyst being the other birthstone
and the most well known.
Bloodstone is the mineral Heliotrope which is a variety of
Jasper or chalcedony. Bloodstone has a
hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
Jasper, as a whole, in ancient times, was worn by shamans
and kings as it is a powerful protection stone and helps to ground.
Jasper is known as the supreme nurturer and its energy is
slow and continual.
Bloodstone specifically draws strength and vitality and
assists us in being loving and compassionate. It assists with courage, living
in the moment and calming the mind.
Bloodstone can assist with the clarity when trying to make good
decision as it helps to clear impatience and aggressiveness from the scenario.
Bloodstone is said to cleanse our energy as well as our
blood. It benefits blood rich organs and
circulation. It is a powerful healer.
Bloodstone is associated with the lower chakras.
