Our Chakras are energy centres and when these centres are open and the energies are flowing freely, we are healthy, energetic and productive. 

Below is a beginners list of the names of the Chakras (starting from the base of our torso to the top of our head). Also listed are the elements associated with each Chakra, a one-word description of what each Chakra represents, a motto for each Chakra, the colour that represents each Chakra and the name of each healing stone used in this specific pendant.

CHAKRA SIMPLICITY

EMERALD - MYSTIC BIRTHSTONE FOR JANUARY

Continuing from our post yesterday highlighting the modern and traditional birthstone for January (Garnet), today we are highlighting the mystic birthstone, Emerald.  Emerald is also the traditional birthstone for May and the sunstone for Cancer. 

Emerald is from the Beryl family and has a hardness of 7.5 to 8.  If the stone is a light green it would be referred to as Green Beryl and if it is a darker green it is referred to as Emerald.

Emerald is a stone associated with inspiration and patience. It is known as the stone of successful love. Emerald enhances partnerships, friendships and unconditional love.

This is the stone of regeneration, recovery and mental clarity.

Physically, Emerald is said to rejuvenate the organs, in particular. It is known as the stone of choice for assisting with treating the hearts. It is also well known for treating and sooth the eyes. 

Emerald calms the emotions and as a result, it is recommended that it is not worn constantly as it is said to overly affect our emotions. 

Emerald is associates with the heart chakra.

EMERALD - MYSTIC BIRTHSTONE FOR JANUARY

GARNET – JANUARY BIRTHSTONE

We thought it only appropriate to highlight the modern and the traditional birthstone of January – Garnet.

Garnet has a hardness of 6.5 to 7.5 and has been used in jewellery since the Bronze Age (in the third millennium BC)  Garnet comes in an array of colours from the classic red garnet to red/violet, ambers, oranges, yellows and greens.  The garnet highlighted today is Kashgar garnet discovered in China

Garnet is associated with love and passion and is known as the stone of commitment.  Garnet amplified and draws the qualities we are looking for in a relationship such as trust and devotion.  It has been said that its energy bring luck with love.

Garnet’s energies push for success and it assists us in reaching our goals.

Physically, Garnet is said to reduce toxins in the body and purifies the blood.

It is said that Garnet activates and amplifies other crystals.

This is an intense stone which stimulates both the crown and the root chakras.

GARNET SET

SUNSTONE

Sunstone is part of the feldspar family and it has a hardness of 6 to 6.5.

With New Year’s resolutions in mind, we thought we would highlight Sunstone, a stone associates with weight loss because of the “ray of hope” that it provides.  It is said that Sunstone give us that extra little push we may require to keep going. 

Sunstone is also associated with good luck and good fortune. It is said to empower self-healing and the feeling of self-worth. It is a light inspiring stone. 

Sunstone is a stone of vibrancy and stimulates feel good.  This is an ideal stone for inspirational speakers, leadership and independence (and again pushing us to stick with our goals). 

For centuries, Sunstone has been used for rheumatism and general aches and pains. More recently, Sunstone is also used to metaphysically treat osteoarthritis and cramps.

SUNSTONE

FLUORITE

Fluorite has a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale and is a form of calcium fluoride.  This mineral can range in colour from clear to black.  Fluorite is naturally clear but impurities are what give Fluorite its range in colour.  The most popular colours in jewellery are purple and then green.

Fluorite is said to provide mental focus, assist in the processing and retention of information.  It has been called the aptitude stone. 

Fluorite is also a highly protective stone used for grounding and balancing spiritually. Fluorite increases intuitive abilities and links us to the universal conscious energies when working with our upper Chakras.  

Physically, Fluorite is known to strengthen bones and teeth, and lessens pain associated with arthritis.

Our tree of life creation today consists of both purple and green Fluorite which stones are associated with the heart, throat and third eye chakras.  Use this Fluorite to cleanse and renew the Chakras.

FLUORITE TREE OF LIFE

AMETHYST & CRYSTAL

Amethyst is from the quartz family and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.  This particular pendant showcases a pale purple Amethyst which is highlighted with bicone crystals.

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday seasons, we thought Amethyst would be a perfect choice to highlight today as it is a calming stone.

Amethyst is one of the most popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.

Amethyst is a stone associated with sincerity, protection and purification.  

Amethyst's energies are also associated with the psychic realm.

Amethyst comes from the Greek word methustos which can be translated as intoxicated. This stone has been used for centuries in association with sobriety and is also used for other addictions.  It is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings. (Oh yet another good reason to highlight Amethyst)

In healing, Amethyst is not only used on those being healed but also is worn by the healer as its energies heal the healer.

Physically, Amethyst is said to assist with headaches as well as assists and stimulates the immune system.

Amethyst is the sunstone for the Astrological sign of Pisces and traditionally is the birthstone for the month of February.

ESSENTIAL OIL DIFFUSER PENDANT

CHRYSOCOLLA

Chrysocolla or Chrysacolla is a beautiful blue/green stone with a hardness of 2 to 4 on the Mohs scale.   More often than note, Chrysocolla beads are enhanced with dye but the nuggets are generally natural in colour.  The colour can certainly vary with Chrysocolla however.

Chrysocolla is a peace and harmony stone.  Its energies are gentle and  assist in clarity and using discretion when making important and on the spot stressful decisions. 

Metaphysically it is used to purify an area (room) or to assist an individual to release negativity. It assists those that carry nervous energy.

Physically, Chrysocolla is used for stress headaches, arthritis, muscle spasms and cramps.

CHRYSOCOLLA PENDANT

The highlighted earrings today contain manmade faceted bicone crystals.  These crystals are created by various companies such as Swarovski in Austria.  They generally have a hardness of 6.5 to 7.  The lead oxide gives these crystals their pure, clear transparency. 

These faceted crystals have the energies of glass.  Glass brings positive energy, hope, joy and good luck.  Because of the prism effects, it is believed that these crystals draw in the positive and reflect out the negative.

Charoite is a silicate mineral with a hardness of 4.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.  It comes is a variety of purples and can contain black, green and orange as well.

Charoite is the stone of transformation. Its energies help us to see clearly and to turn negative emotions into positive ones.

This is a stone of deep emotional and physical healing.  This is an ideal choice for the sick and the elderly.

Charoite is said to assist with exhaustion.

Charoite is associated with the crown chakra.
