ANGELITE

Angelite is a blue/grey variety of Anhydrite and was discovered in Peru in the 1980’s. Angelite has a hardness of 3 to 3.5 which makes it popular for carving.

 

Angelite is known as a higher vibration crystal and is a perfect stone for use in meditation, akashic records, visualization, telepathy, astro travel, etc. It is said to have a connection with our spirit guides and our higher self; thus, the name (angelic communications). It is used to enhance our psychic and astrological connections metaphysically.

 

Angelite’s energies have also been associated with feeling calm and at ease.  This is said to be an excellent stone when working with anger and fear issues.

 

Angelite is associated with and works with the throat, third eye and crown chakras.

APATITE

Apatite is a group of phosphate minerals, including hydroxylapatite, fluorapatite and chlorapatite but Fluorapatite is most used in jewellery. Apaptite’s hardness is 5 on the Moh scale.  Apatite can greatly vary in colour.  It can be colourless, white, yellow, brown, gray, red, pink, purple, blue, and green but most specimens are multi-coloured.

 

Apatite is a used as a spiritual stone and is said to be beneficial in accessing the Akashic records and clearing our Auras.

 

Blue Apatite, in particular, is used to motivate and clear the way so that we can reach our objectives. It is said to assist in our awakening and is associated with our focus.

 

Metaphysically, it is said to be a perfect stone to help with spiritual growth and development. It is used for dreams, meditation, psychic abilities and higher self development.

 

Apatite is associated with the Throat and Third Eye Charkas.

AMETHYST

Amethyst is a purple variety from the quartz family and can range from light to dark purple and from clear to a solid colour. The clear gem grade Amethyst is the most sought-after version of this mineral. Amethyst, as with all quartz, has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale.

 

Amethyst is one of the most popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.

 

Amethyst is a stone associated with sincerity, protection and purification. Amethyst's energies are also associated with the psychic realm.

 

Amethyst comes from the Greek word methustos which can be translated as intoxicated. This stone has been used for centuries in association with sobriety and other addictions. It is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings.

 

In healing, Amethyst is not only used on those being healed but is also worn by the healer as it is said that its energies heal the healer.

 

Amethyst is the sunstone for the Astrological signs of Aquarius and Sagittarius and traditionally is the birthstone for the month of February. It is the talisman of Scorpio

 

Amethyst is associates with the crown chakra.

FREEFORM BALTIC AMBER

 This unique freeform polished Baltic Amber was brought to me, and I was commissioned to create a pendant. The client normally prefers copper wire for energy flow but suggested the Amber deserved at least gold fill wire (gold-filled for strength as opposed to gold).

 

The Baltic Amber was wrapped in a way not to hide any part of the Amber piece and to allow its natural beauty to be framed.

 

Gold-filled wire is said to bring success, happiness and understanding. It is said to assist in making us attuned with all (including people) that surrounds us while Baltic Amber is associated with desire, sensuality and romantic tenderness. It is said that it was used to find lasting love.

 

When Amber is worn against the skin, the nugget or bead is naturally warmed by our body and a small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid) is released and absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. Succinic acid is known to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and is used as an analgesic for pain. Baltic Amber is noted as assisting with varicose vein and increasing blood circulation.

 

For a little technical information, Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin that is used in the same manner as any crystal, mineral or stone in jewellery creation. Baltic Amber’s has a hardness ranging from 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale.

LARVIKITE (Norwegian Moonstone)

 

Larvikite contains a high percentage of the mineral anorthoclase but also contains feldspar which gives it the blue reflective qualities. Larvikite has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.

 

Larvikite is used as a grounding and protective stone which originated from Norway (also known as Black Labradorite or Norwegian Moonstone).

 

It is said to enhance our visions and psychic abilities. Larvikite is used to stimulates the mind and is said to assists us with understanding, spiritual clarity and to open our minds to new ideas without emotional attachment.

 

Metaphysically Larvikite is used to assist with learning disabilities, helps brain function and increased vitality.

APOPHYLLITE

Apophyllite is the general name for the grouping of three sub classifications - Fluorapophyllite, Hydroxyapophyllite and Natroapophyllite. Apophyllite has a hardness of 4.5 to 5 and usually comes in the pyramid form. Apophyllite can come in a variety of colours but the most popular is clear.

 

Apophyllite is said to carry the Akashic Record and is a powerful vibration transmitter.

 

Apophyllite is a must in Reiki healing.

 

Apopyllite is used as a tool for developing intuition and its energies are said to be inspirational. This is the ideal tool when working with the higher chakras. In particular, Apopyllite is invaluable when working with the third eye and Crown Chakras as it is predominantly a spiritual crystal.

RUTILATED QUARTZ

Rutilated Quartz can be identified by the rutile crystal inclusions in the clear quartz. This particular stone has golden threads or needles of Titanium Oxide throughout. (My picture did not capture it well so I have included a second picture)

 

Rutilated Quartz is known as the "moving energy" crystal. Rutile is known for its intense energy and quartz magnifies the energy of other stones.

 

Rutilated Quartz is said to help with focus and with making positive decisions. Its energies are said to uplifting and helps us to overcome our fears.

 

Metaphysically it is used as a motivational crystal and to assist with self-esteem, mood, meditation, communication, etc.  It is said to be a wonderful meditation crystal particularly when meditating for psychic clarity.

 

This quartz is associated with the solar plexus chakra but is beneficial with assisting with any and all chakras when they are sluggish.
