WHITE TRIDACNA SET

 Our Tridacna bracelet a couple of weeks back was a hit and so today we bring you a necklace and earring set.

 

Tridacna beads are made from saltwater clam shells and are pure white.

 

Tridacna is known as one of the Seven Treasures of Buddhism.

 

Tridacna is worn for protection and enhances our magnetic field. It is said to enhance wisdom. Tridacna is used to stabilize our moods and is a perfect choice for when feeling annoyed. LEO BIRTHSTONE ONYX

 In a couple of days, we will be entering the astrological sign of Leo.  The sunstones or birthstones of Leo are Carnelian, Diamond, Onyx, Peridot, Ruby and Sardonyx.  Today we are highlighting Black Onyx.

 

Onyx is a form of chalcedony from the quartz family and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.

 

Black Onyx is known as the stone of strength, both physically and emotionally. It has been used to aid concentration and to help with self-discipline.  Onyx is said to provide support and self-confidence. 

 

Metaphysically, it is invaluable with past life work and is said to help to eliminate fear and worry.

 

Physically, Onyx is used to balance the yin and yang energies within our bodies.

 

There is a set of stones that have been formulated in association with the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Black Onyx can be used as the fourth step as part of the “continuing to take inventory stage”. 

 

Onyx is associated with the root chakra.

YELLOW AVENTURINE

Aventurine comes from the Quartz / Chalcedony family containing small flakes or scales that give it a glistening effect. The inclusions are usually Muscovite mica, but can be Hematite or Goethite. Yellow Aventurine can contain Pyrite. Aventurine has a hardness of 6.5 to 7. Commonly, Aventurine comes in many varying shades of green but can be blue, yellow, orange, brown and grey.

 

Aventurine in general is associated with abundance, opportunity and luck.

 

Yellow Aventurine is used for focusing, manifesting and setting intensions.   It is suggested to be the stone of choice for those experiencing power struggles and who battle with assertiveness.

 

Yellow Aventurine is an emotion stone.

 

Aventurine is associated with the solar plexus chakra.

CARNELIAN – BIRTHSTONE OF JULY

As mentioned last week, Birthstones for the month of July include carnelian, onyx, ruby, sapphire and sardonyx.  Today we are highlighting the ancient birthstone Carnelian (which is also one of the ancient birthstones for May and birthstone of Virgo).  Carnelian is chalcedony quartz and has a hardness of 6.5 to a 7 on the Mohs scale. 

 

Carnelian is known as a grounding and stabilizing stone.  It has high energy which makes it a motivational stone.

 

In ancient times, Carnelian was not only a birthstone but was considered an amulet or talisman. Carnelian is used to help remove fear and to create courage.  It is used for concentration and to calm anger.

 

Carnelian is also associated with creativity and stimulates energy and drive.

 

In healing it is said to influence the female reproductive organs and is beneficial for depression.

 

Carnelian is associated with the second or sacral chakra.

JULY BIRTHSTONE - SAPPHIRE

 Birthstones for the month of July include carnelian, onyx, ruby, sapphire and sardonyx.  Today we are highlighting beautiful Sapphire.  Today we are highlighting Sapphire.  Sapphire is also the traditional birthstone of April and September and the Sunstone of Taurus. 

 

Sapphire is a variety of the mineral corundum and aluminum oxide.  It has a hardness of 9 on the mohs scale. 

 

Sapphire is known as the stone of wisdom and to brings peace of mind.  This is the stone of prophecy.

 

Sapphire is used to aligns the physical, mental and spiritual.

 

The blue sapphire shown here is associated with love and purity and is said to help us stay on our spiritual path.

 

Sapphire is said to calm and regulate the body and in metaphysical healing is used to treat disorders associates with the blood and strengthens veins.

 

Sapphire is primarily associated with the third chakra but is also associated with the throat chakra.

DRAGONS VEIN AGATE

Dragons Vein or Crab Fire Agate is created by heating agate until fractures appear, then enhancing the contrast of the cracks by filling with a permanent surface additive giving it a beautiful veiny effect.
