Birthstones for the month of December include the modern birthstones Turquoise, Tanzanite and blue Topaz, the traditional birthstones Lapis Lazuli and Zircon, the mystical stone Onyx and the talisman Beryl. Also there are sun stones for Capricorn (Ruby, Agate, Garnet and Onyx) and Sagittarius (Topaz, Amethyst Ruby, Sapphire and Turquoise) as these sun signs fall within the month of December.
Today we are highlighting Ruby which is one of the precious
gemstones. Ruby is the red variety of
the mineral Corundum and Sapphire is the blue variety. Essentially Ruby is a red Sapphire and has a
hardness of 9.
It is rare to find ruby on its own in metaphysically
jewellery pieces. Frequently it is found
in Zoisite (a green stone) which makes it much more affordable.
Ruby is a very powerful stone. It is said to help us shake off limitations
and promotes joy, courage and strength.
It is used to promote enthusiasm and enthusiasm in turn helps us to live
life. This stone is suggested during
times of feeling exhaustion.
