Today will be our last post focusing on the various stones of July including the sun signs of Cancer and
Leo. As mentioned earlier this week, birthstones
for the month of July are carnelian, onyx, ruby, sapphire and sardonyx. Today we are highlighting beautiful
Carnelian. Carnelian is also the Sunstone of Virgo.
Carnelian is chalcedony quartz and has a
hardness of 6.5 to a 7 on the Mohs scale.
Carnelian is a grounding and stabilizing stone with high energy making it a
motivational stone.
In ancient times, Carnelian was used as an amulet or talisman. Carnelian is the
stone used to help remove fear and to create courage. It is also used for
concentration and to calms anger.
Carnelian has been used for creativity and is said to stimulate energy and
drive.
In healing it is said to influence the female reproductive organs and is used
to benefit depression.
Carnelian is associated with the second or sacral chakra.
