We continue our focus on the various stones of
July including the sun signs of Cancer and Leo.
Birthstones for the month of July are carnelian, onyx, ruby, sapphire
and sardonyx. Today we are highlighting Sapphire. Saphhire is also the talisman of Cancer, the
birthstone of September and the Sunstone of Taurus.
The
gemstone Sapphire is a variety of
the mineral corundum, an aluminium oxide.
Sapphire has a hardness of 9.
Sapphire
is known as the stone of wisdom and brings peace of mind. This is the stone of prophecy.
Sapphire aligns the physical, mental and spiritual.
The blue sapphire shown here is associated with love and purity and helps us to
stay on our spiritual path.
Sapphire calms and regulates the body. It treats disorders associates with the
blood and strengthens veins.
Sapphire is primarily associated with the third chakra but is also associated
with the throat chakra.
