GEMINI BIRTHSTONE - AGATE

The birthstone or sunstones for the sun sign Gemini are agate, chrysoprase, citrine, moonstone, pearl and white sapphire. Tiger's eye is its Planetary stone and emerald is Gemini’s Talismanic Stone.

Today we will highlight Agate which is a banded stone which is quite difference from any other Chalcedony. Agate has a hardness of 7.  There are so many different varieties of Agate we could not list them all here.

Agate is a slow and lower vibrational stone.  Sure but steady, its energetic effects will take time to manifest but will have wonderful long term benefits.  This protective and harmonizing stone is known for its abilities to help us relieve anxiety and stress 

Agate is a stone of balance and strength and its energies assist in emotional healing.  Its energy is also said to strengthen the body as well as to helps us with our connection to the earth (grounding). 

This is a beneficial stone for students and artists as it promotes creativity.

Emotionally, agate gives courage, self-confidence, and helps to dispels fears.

All agates can remove blockages from all chakras and are cleansing.

CRYSTAL AND PEARL SWIRL EARRINGS

These lovely free flow swirling wire earrings have been adorned with pearl and faceted bicone crystal beads.

A pearl is a growth formed within the shell of a pearl oyster or other types of mollusk. The crystals are manmade and created by various companies such as Swarovski in Austria. 

Freshwater pearls are said to enable us to accept love and to see the good within self and within others.   Pearls are the stone of choice for brides due to their association with partnerships and love. Pearls have been traditionally used to assist with sex drive. 

The faceted crystals have the energies of glass.  Glass brings positive energy, hope, joy and good luck.  Because of the prism effects, it is believed that these crystals draw in the positive and reflect out the negative.   Crystals carry energies of transformation and rebirth.

BALTIC AMBER

The Baltic Amber comes in many colours and the variations in looks for these creations can be endless.   Today’s highlights anklets range from milky or butter, lemon, honey, cognac, green, raw and polished.   Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin that is used in jewellery just as any other crystal, mineral or stone.   It has a hardness of 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale.

When amber is worn against the skin, the nugget or bead is warmed and releases small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid). The oils are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and are an analgesic used for pain. Baltic Amber is said to assists with varicose veins and increases blood circulation.   Today’s anklet has been created specifically for varicose veins (and for its good looks too).

Celestite (also known as Celestine) has a hardness of 3 to 3.5. It ranges in colour from clear, blue, orange, light brown, and green/blue.  PLEASE NOTE that Celestite will fade if kept continually in sunlight.

Celestite is known as the Angel or angelic stone and is said to connect us to divine energy.

UNAKITE PENTAGRAM

Unakite is from the granite family.  The green mineral in Unakite is epidote with a hardness of 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale and the pink/orange mineral is orthoclase with a hardness of 6.  Unakite also consists of clear Quartz.  According to geology.com Unakite can also contain apatite, chromite, ilmenite, magnetite, zircon, along with other minerals.

Unakite is a stone used for visualization, psychic visions, meditation, psychic work and casting.

It brings awareness to issues from the past so that we can deal with our blockages. Unakite is also used for past life healing.   It is said that Unakite can assist us in finding the root cause of disease resulting from recent or distant past issues.

HEMATITE HEART NECKLACE

This beautiful necklace was created with various different hematite beads.

Hematite if an iron oxide with trace amounts of titanium.  It is a myth that Hematite is magnetic.  It is only magnetic if it contains enough magnetite or pyrrhotite.  Hematite has a hardness of 5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.
