BLOODSTONE


Welcome to March. 

The modern birthstone for March is Aquamarine. The traditional birthstone is Bloodstone.  The ancient Hindu birthstone for March is Opal.  The mystical birthstone for March is Jade.  The ancient Hebrew, Italian and Russian birthstone for March is Jasper. 

The two astrological sun signs that fall within the month of March are Pisces and Aries.  The sun sign stone of Pisces is Sapphire and Bloodstone and the Talismanic stone is Ruby.  The sun sign stone for Aries is Diamond as well as Bloodstone and the talismanic stone is Topaz. 

Today we are going to highlight Bloodstone which is the mineral Heliotrope.  Bloodstone is a variety of Jasper or chalcedony and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.

Jasper, as a whole, in ancient times, was worn by shamans and kings as it is said to be a powerful protection stone and helps to ground.

Jasper is known as the supreme nurturer and its energy is slow and continual.

Bloodstone specifically draws strength and vitality, and it assists us in being loving and compassionate. It assists with courage, living in the moment and calming the mind.

Bloodstone can assist with the clarity when trying to make good decision as it helps to clear impatience and aggressiveness from the scenario. 

Bloodstone is said to cleanse our energy as well as our blood.  It benefits blood rich organs and circulation.  It is a powerful healer.

Bloodstone is associated with the lower chakras.
