Today we are highlighting the (modern and the traditional)
birthstone of January – Garnet.
Garnet has a hardness of 6.5 to 7.5 and has been used in
jewellery since the Bronze Age (in the third millennium BC) Garnet comes in an array of colours from the
classic red garnet to red/violet, ambers, oranges, yellows and greens. There are six species of garnet and 17
variations.
Garnet is associated with love and passion and is known as
the stone of commitment. Garnet
amplified and draws the qualities we are looking for in a relationship such as
trust and devotion. It has been said that
Garnet energy bring luck with love.
Garnet’s energies push for success and it assists us in
reaching our goals.
Physically, Garnet is said to reduce toxins in the body and
purifies the blood.
It is also said that Garnet activates and amplifies other
crystals.
This is an intense stone which stimulates both the crown and
the root chakras.
