This statement necklace and earrings consists of Agate which is a Chalcedony mineral with a hardness of 7, Amethyst which is part of the quartz family and also has a hardness of 7 and Rhodonite which is a pyroxenoid mineral with a hardness of 5.5 to 6.

Agate and Amethyst are known for their abilities to help relieve anxiety and stress. 

Agate is a stone of balance and strength and its energies assist in emotional healing.

Amethyst is stimulating yet soothing and is a stone of comfort when grieving. Amethyst is known as the master healer.

CITRINE TREE OF LIFE

Citrine has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and is from the quartz family. The colour of citrine can vary from light yellow to a light orange-yellow. Most citrine on the market is heated amethyst which may have been treated naturally by Mother Nature or may have been treated by us humans.  Heated Amethyst, sold as citrine, can range in colour from dark yellow to a dark red-yellow.  Smokey quartz can also be treated to turn yellow. According to minerals.net, all heat-treated “citrine” has a red tint. Some very light natural Citrine can be sold under the name of “Lemon Quartz”. 

True Citrine’s energies are associated with abundance and it is known as the success stone.  It is also associated with happiness. 

Citrine increases and clarifies personal power and energy.

Citrine is used to removing toxins and is said to be helpful with overcoming addictions.

It should be noted that Citrine may intensify aggressiveness in some individuals.

MULTI-COLOURED TOURMALINE

Tourmaline is a semi-precious gemstone with a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale.  Tourmaline is a combination of several minerals, the most common of which are Elbaite, Schorl, and Dravite.  Tourmaline comes in a very wide variety of colours.  Today’s showcased piece includes Tourmaline colours of yellow, gold, green, pink and black Tourmaline.

The key is a symbol of “unlocking” whether it is freedom, knowledge, power, enlightenment, gateways, etc.  It is a powerful symbol.

Tourmaline is a healing crystal that is associated with moving beyond old habits which in turn make change a little easier. 

Tourmaline is a powerful grounding stone and enhances tolerance and understanding.  This is the stone of choice when a positive attitude is essential.

In ancient times, it was used to ward off evil spirits. Today it is still used as a shamanic stone for protection and purification.

Clear Quartz Crystal has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and is the most common stone found on our planet.

Quartz Crystal is known as the power stone. It enhances clarity and is very high energy.

HEMATITE

Hematite is an iron oxide with trace amounts of titanium.  It is a myth that Hematite is magnetic on its own.  Hematite is only magnetic if it contains enough magnetite to attract it to a magnet.   Hematite has a hardness of 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.

Hematite is grounding, enhances expansion and is protective. It is associated with peace and harmony and harmonizes the spirit, mind and body.

It stimulates memory, concentration and focus. It is used to assist with addictions and is used during the inventory stage of the program.

Physically, Hematite is said to help with blood supply and is beneficial for leg cramps and anxiety.

Hematite is associated with the root chakra.

PEARLS (FRESHWATER) AND SHELL

Pearl is one of the most ancient of gemstones.  Over time, Pearls have been the birthstone of February, April, June, July and November. Astrologers have linked pearls to the Moon which is the energy of our emotions. Pearls have been referred to as the teardrops of the Moon.

More recently, pearls are linked to feminine wisdom, faith, purity, charity and spiritual transformation. It is not co-incidence that many brides wear pearls. 

Today, we are focusing on a pearl which is referred to as black.  Black pearls can be found in many dark hues such as grey, charcoal, metallic and dark purple. Pearls have a hardness of 2.5 and as a result, scratch easily.


Black Pearls and these are specifically used for balance, control, prosperity, strength and protection.

RUBY IN ZOISITE

 Zoisite is the green portion of these beads which as a hardness of 6.5 to 7.  The reddish pink inclusions are Ruby which has a hardness of 9.   Ruby in Zoisite is also known as Anyolite.

Ruby is an energy stone and when combined with Zoisite, it activates the crown chakra and assists in spiritual learning and access to your soul's memory.  This combination is excellent for use in past life work. 

Ruby in Zoisite is associated with courage, happiness, inspiration and emotional stability.  It is also said to assist in utilizing your individuality without separating yourself for humanity. 

Ruby in Zoisite has also been spiritually associated with abundance.

Physically, Anyolite like Zoisite is said to, among other things, increase fertility and assist with menopause and the reproduction organs.

AMAZONITE CUFF

We have again upcycled a piece of silverware to create a unique piece of jewellery.  The handle from a spoon now forms the focal point of this highlighted piece and the addition of amazonite and quartz beads have completed the cuff/bracelet.

Amazonite is part of the feldspar family and has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. 

This is a soothing stone that balances the male and female energies. It helps us to see both sides of all issues and its energies are said to assist us in being calm after emotional trauma.

It is known as the stone of courage and truth.

October - TOURMALINE

Welcome to October.

October has several birth/sun stones.  The month of October is represented by the birthstones aquamarine, beryl, coral, jasper, opal, and tourmaline.  Libra is connected to agate, lapis lazuli, peridot and sapphire and Amethyst, Garnet, Ruby and Topaz are connected to Scorpio.
