We entered the sun sign of Virgo on August 23, 2019. Virgo’s sunstones or birthstones include Carnelian, Jade,
Jasper, Moss Agate, and Blue Sapphire. (Carnelian, for interest sake, is the
alternative birthstone of Ruby for July as well.)
Today we are featuring Carnelian which is chalcedony quartz
and has a hardness of 6.5 to 7.
In ancient times, Carnelian was used as an amulet or
talisman. Carnelian is a high energy grounding and stabilizing stone.
Carnelian is the stone of choice to help remove fear and
create courage. It is used for concentration and to calms anger.
Carnelian is also associated with creativity and stimulates
energy and drive thus it is a motivational stone.
In healing, it is said to influence the female reproductive
organs and is said to be beneficial for depression.
Carnelian is associated with the second or sacral chakra.
