Apache Tears is a common name for round small black obsidian
nodules which are made of volcanic glass. Apache tears are 5 to 5.5 hardness on
the Mohs scale. These stones are brittle and chip easily so it is important to
be careful when storing them with other stones. As a side note, I actually
prefer the chipped nuggets as this give them dimension and more
reflection….character if you will.
Apache tears are good luck stones.
Apache tears are used to relieve grief and sadness. This is
an excellent tool for those that give support during stressful situations.
Apache tears are grounding and are known to give protection.
Just as with black obsidian, Apache
tears protect us from negativity in our surroundings and from within (such as
negative thoughts and reactions).
Physically, Apache Tears have been used for muscle spasms
and to boost the immune system.
Apache Tears are associated with the root chakra.
