October 31 is referred to as Samhain, Ancestor’s Eve, All Hallows Eve, and the list goes on. 

Samhaim or Samhuinn is translated to Summer’s end.  It is a time to harvest and to dry our herbs.  The available daylight is rapidly decreasing and winter approaches.

For some, it is the celebration of the Wiccan New Year.   For others, it is a time to celebrate and honour our ancestors.  Yet for others, it is a time to reflect on that and who we have lost but to then celebrate all that we have gained including our harvest.

This is one of the most sacred Pagan holidays of the year and is considered a holy day.

In honour of our ancestors and those that have passed over, obsidian or onyx would be a wonderful choice for grounding and to help us deal with our grief.

In honour of the celebration, clear quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, smokey quartz, etc. are perfect stones to raise our vibration or energies. 

It is a time to celebrate….a time to celebrate the past, present and future.  You may want to incorporate:

-Carnelian for courage and to enhance your creativity,

-Citrine, Amber or Sunstone to include the sun in your celebration (for we now notice its loss),

-Moonstone to include the moon which reflects our emotions,

-Amethyst to raise our intuition and awareness

-Clear crystal quartz as an amplifier for all.  

These crystals would be perfect to use in the creation of a celebratory mandala (a reminder of the Divine and that life is eternal).

Blue Sandstone (a man-made stone) is dark blue, almost purple, with glimmering flecks (copper) throughout.

We are continuing our look at Agate from October 22, 2016.  Agate is a grounding stone that assists in balancing our emotions.  Agate harmonizes the positive and the negative.  It assists us with our self-confidence and concentration.

Today we are looking specifically at Agate Geodes.  The piece below has been created from a slice of Agate Geode.  Geodes have the same healing energies as Agate nuggets but the Geodes also contain other minerals which enhance Agate's energies.

BALTIC AMBER

Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin from ancient forests that were located in the Baltics. The amber is approximately 44 million years old.   


Baltic Amber is used as any other crystal or stone in jewellery.

Agate

Agate is an ornamental stone from the chalcedony family.  It can be identified by its banded or layered appearance.

Agate is a slow and lower vibrational stone.  Sure but steady, its energetic effects will take time to manifest but will have wonderful long term benefits.

Agate is a protective and harmonizing stone. Its energy is said to strengthen the body as well as to helps us with our connection to the earth (grounding).

It is a beneficial stone for students and artists as it promotes creativity.

There are many different types of quartz according to their colour. Today we are focused on clear crystal quartz.
Crystal quartz is an amplifier and clear crystal amplifies the white energy of our higher self. It is said to assist us in achieving clarity in our communication abilities as well as our own personal thoughts.
