COPPER BROOM

Happy Halloween and so appropriate to highlight another broom.  Today’s creation is made of copper which is recognized for its healing properties especially with fighting infections. Copper is an antioxidant, and it improves the production of hemoglobin, myelin, collagen, melanin and the list goes on.

 

Copper is a conductor and therefore is an excellent means to transfer and amplify energy. This metal is a great choice for healers.

 

Spiritually, Copper is the metal of the body.

 

Metaphysically, copper is used for grounding. Since ancient time, Copper has been used in talismans because of its protective qualities.

 

Copper is associated with the base and sacral chakras.

BESOMS (WITCHES BROOM)

In light of the approach of Hallowe’en, we thought we would create a Witches Broom pendant.  This pendant was created in Stainless Steel.

 

We think a little history on Witches brooms is warranted.

 

Besoms or Witches Brooms have been associated with wiccan and pagan rituals since the middle ages. The word "besom" is derived from the Old English "besma," which means broom.

 

According to History.com, Anthologist, Robin Skelton, suggests the association between witches and brooms may have roots in a pagan fertility ritual, in which rural farmers would leap and dance astride poles, pitchforks or brooms in the light of the full moon to encourage the growth of their crops.

 

Ritually today, the Besom or Witches Broom is used to purify or cleanse a space.

FALL COLOURS NECKLACE

A beautiful combination of matted Jasper, Agate, Aventurine, Chrysocolla and Carnelian beads enhanced with Brass rings and gold-filled findings was inspired by Mother Nature’s current Autumn canvas.

 

What a combination of energies. Each stone can be known as: Jasper (the supreme nurturer), Agate (the balancer), Aventurine (the “prosperer”), Chrysocolla (the pacifist) and Carnelian (the grounder).

NATURAL HOWLITE

Howlite has a hardness of 3.5 and is seldom found in crystal form. Frequently Howlite is dyed. Unfortunately, many vendors sell dyed Howlite as natural Turquoise. Howlite in its natural form is white with grey to blackish veins.

 

Howlite is used to still the mind, relieves stress, and calm. As a result, it is excellent for sleep. Howlite is said to encourages patience.

 

This is an attunement stone & is linked to the spiritual dimensions. It is said to opens us to insights & wisdom and is a perfect tool for meditation.

 

Howlite is said to help us become aware of our goals and ambitions, and its energies aid in achieving these goals.

 

Howlite is associates with the crown chakra but also said to balance all chakras.

 

This mineral is also used as a scrying (seeing) crystal.

ROSE QUARTZ WITH CLEAR QUARTZ ACCENTS

Rose quartz as suggested by its name is a member of the Quartz family and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.  The colour is usually muted but occasionally can be found as a vivid pink. Rose quartz is generally not treated.

 

Rose quartz is known as the stone of love - love for others AND love for self. It is said to be a crystal of high energy and unconditional love for any situation.

 

Rose quartz is used for self-esteem and self-worth. Its loving energies is said to teach us to apply this love to ourselves. This in turn assists us with our own self-worth.

Rose quartz is known as being calming and perfect for crisis. It is said to assist in learning how to accept change and deal with unexpressed emotions and grief.

 

Rose quartz has been worn to assist with fertility.

 

Rose quartz is associated with the heart chakra.

SHUNGITE

Shungite is a black and lustrous mineraloid with a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale.

 

Shungite is the go-to stone for EMF (electromagnetic field) protection.

 

Shungite has long been used as a purifier for water.

 

Shungite is said to balance. It is used to ground and is said to carry earth energies. As a result it is used to assist in healing and stress relief

 

Shungite is associated with the root chakra.

 

If washed, be sure to completely dry your Shungite stone before wearing.

HEMIMORPHITE

Hemimorphite, one of two minerals formerly called calamine, has a hardness of 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale. Hemimorphite in its purest form is white or colourless but due to impurities of copper and iron it can also be green, blue or grey. 

 

Blue hemimorphite can resemble both larimar and/or turquoise.

 

Hemimorphite is said to enhance self-esteem and self-respect and to separate ourselves from ego.

 

It has been used to communicate our emotions and our inner feelings.

 

Metaphysically Hemimorphite is used to develop spirituality, psychic visions and intuition.

 

Hemimorphite’s key words could be empathy and love.

BASALT OR LAVA BRACELETS

Lava or Basalt is volcanic rock and has a hardness of 3 to 3.5 on the Mohs scale.

CORAL PENDANT

Coral is a skeletal structure which is slowly built by small marine animals. Coral is between 3 and 4 in hardness on the Mohs scale. Natural coral is generally the colour of Carnelian but most coral used in jewellery has been dyed to enhance the red colour.

 

Coral is said to aid in meditation, visualization and creativity. As a result, it is a suggested talisman for artists.

JASPER ARROWHEAD

Jasper is from the quartz family and its hardness is between 6.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale.

 

Jasper, in ancient times, was worn by shamans and kings as it is known as a powerful protection stone and helps to ground.

 

Jasper is known as the supreme nurturer and its energy is slow and continual. Jasper is said to draw strength and vitality and assists us in being loving and compassionate.

 

Jasper is also said to enhance tranquility and helps eliminate stress.
