ANGELITE – HOLIDAY STRESS

 Our main focus for today, due to the holiday season, is the assistance to maintain calm and to be at ease.  Angelite is a good choice.  Other alternatives are Celestite, Blue Lace Agate, Tourmaline (most of the black grounding stones), Fluorite and the list goes on. 

Angelite assists in our feelings of peace and tranquility.  It is a stone of compassion which is also helpful during this time of year.  Angelite is also a good choice when working with anger and fear issues.

As a side note, Angelite is a higher vibration crystal and is a perfect stone for use in meditation, work with akashic records, visualization and telepathy, astral travel, etc. It has a connection with our spirit guides and our higher self; thus the name (angelic communications). It enhances our psychic and astrological connections as well.  We can certain forget to focus on self during this busy season.

Angelite is associated with the throat, third eye and crown chakras. 

Angelite is a blue/grey variety of Anhydrite which was discovered in Peru in the 1980’s. Angelite has a hardness of 3 to 3.5 which makes it popular for carving.

SAGITTARIUS ZODIAC BIRTHSTONE - AMETHYST

The Zodiac sign Sagittarius has five different stones, Ruby, Topaz, Amethyst, Sapphire, and Turquoise.   Today, we will highlight the precious gemstone Amethyst.

Amethyst is the purple variety from the quartz family and can range from light to dark purple and from clear purple to a solid colour.  The clear gem grade Amethyst is the most popular version of the mineral.  Amethyst, as with all quartz, has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale. 

Amethyst is one of the most popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.

Amethyst is a stone associated with sincerity, protection and purification.  

Amethyst's energies are also associated with the psychic realm.

Amethyst comes from the Greek word methustos which can be translated as intoxicated. This stone has been used for centuries in association with sobriety and is also used for other addictions.  It is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings.

In healing, Amethyst is not only used on those being healed but also is worn by the healer as its energies heal the healer.

Physically, Amethyst is said to assist with headaches as well as assists and stimulates the immune system.

DECEMBER - LAPIS LAZULI

Birthstones for the month of December include the modern birthstones Turquoise, Tanzanite and blue Topaz, the traditional birthstones Lapis Lazuli and Zircon, the mystical stone Onyx and the talisman Beryl.  Also there are sun stones for Capricorn (Ruby, Agate, Garnet and Onyx) and Sagittarius (Topaz, Amethyst Ruby, Sapphire and Turquoise) as these sun signs fall within the month of December.

Today we are highlighting Lapis Lazuli which is comprised of lazurite (25% to 40%), calcite and pyrite. It has a hardness of 5 to 5.5 on the Mohs scale.

Lapis Lazuli was the favoured stone of the pharaohs.  It has always been associated with royalty and divine beings. Lapis Lazuli is believed to pass on the ancient knowledge and wisdom of Isis, the Egyptian Sky Goddess.

Lapis Lazuli is the stone of truth. It promotes inner truth, self-awareness, harmony and is an excellent choice to assist in releasing stress and in finding peace.

Lapis Lazuli is associated with good judgement and wisdom.  Its energies are said to stimulate promotion and success.

Lapis Lazuli is used for ailments of the throat and ears and is said to help with general pain and inflammation.

This stone is associated with the throat chakra as well as the third eye chakra.

SELENITE

Selenite is a very soft stone with a hardness of 2 on the Mohs scale.  It is from the mineral gypsum. 

Selenite comes from the ancient Greek work for Moon and is associated with the Moon. 

Selenite is the stone of clarity and honesty.

It is used to assist us with working with spirit and our guides. It is an excellent stone for psychics and is used for meditation.  Many Psychics and Readers use Selenite to clear the energies after a reading. 

If you are susceptible to other people’s feelings, Selenite is a must as it is an excellent clearing stone and is also used for protection.

ELECTROPLATED DRUZY AGATE

Druzy is a collection of tiny crystals with a glittering effect.  The Druzy in our highlighted pieces are on an Agate host which has been electroplated to enhance the colours of the beadswith druzy inclusions occupying the openings or surfaces of some of the beads.

Druzy is considered to be a healing stone that purifies and amplifies the body's natural healing properties and strengthens the spirit.  Druzy is said to help release blocked energies.

Druzy’s energies work similar to crystal clusters and therefore are excellent when working in group settings for metaphysical development, meditation groups, support groups, etc.  Druzy will bring the group energies together.

BALTIC AMBER, CARNELIAN AND QUARTZ

Back by request, we are highlighting this lovely bracelet of Baltic Amber, Carnelian and Quartz which is created for looks but also with joint pain in mind.

Baltic Amber when worn against the skin is warmed and releases small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid). The oils are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. The oils from Baltic Amber boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and are an analgesic used for pain. Baltic Amber also assists with varicose vein and increases blood circulation.

Sapphire aligns the physical, mental and spiritual.

Sapphire is associated with love and purity and helps us to stay on our spiritual path.

Sapphire calms and regulates the body. It treats disorders associates with the blood and strengthens

veins.

NUUMMITE

Nuummite is mainly made up of gedrite and anthophyllite and may contain chalcopyrite, pyrite, and pyrrhotine. In appearance it is very similar to Larvikite. Nuummite has a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale and originates in Greenland.

Nuummite is known as the Sorcerer's stone and is used as a talisman. It is famed to assist with clairvoyance, intuition and to increase synchronicity.
