APOPHYLLITE

Apophyllite is the general name for the grouping of three sub classifications - Fluorapophyllite,  Hydroxyapophyllite and Natroapophyllite.  Apophyllite has a hardness of 4.5 to 5.  Apophyllite usually comes in the pyramid form but double terminated.

Apophyllite is said to carry the Akashic Record and is a powerful vibration transmitter. 

Apophyllite is a must with Reiki healing.

Apophyllite is a wonderful crystal for the third eye and Crown Chakras as it is predominantly a spiritual crystal.

AGATE

Agate is a banded stone which makes it stand out from any other Chalcedony.  It has a hardness of 7.

Agate is a slow and lower vibrational stone. Sure but steady, its energetic effects will take time to manifest but will have wonderful long term benefits.

Agate is a protective and harmonizing stone which relieves anxiety and stress. It is a stone of balance and strength and it helps us to heal emotionally.  Agate’s energy is also said to strengthen the body as well as to helps us with our connection to the earth (grounding).

It is a beneficial stone for students and artists as it promotes creativity.

Rose quartz as suggested by its name is a member of the Quartz family and has a hardness of 7. The colour is usually muted but occasionally can be found as a vivid pink. Rose quartz is generally not treated.

Larvikite was discovered in Larvik, Norway and has a hardness of 6- 6.5  It is also known as Black Labradorite or Norwegian Moonstone.

Larvikite is a grounding and protective stone.  It is said to enhance our visions and psychic abilities.  

Larvikite stimulates the mind. It assist us in understanding, spiritual clarity and to open our minds to new ideas without emotional attachment.

It is said that Larvikite can spiritually assist us with learning disabilities, helps brain function and increased vitality.

GARNET

Garnet is an ancient talisman and was used by many civilizations. 

There are varying types of garnet which we have simplified below.  Each garnet type has its own specific energies, however, we are going to list those that are general to all types of garnet. 

Garnet is a regenerative and energizing stone.  Its energies are lucky for love, push for success and for goals.

Garnet is said to reduce toxins in the body and purifies the blood.

Garnet is an intense stone which stimulates both the crown and the root chakras.

There are basically two groups of Garnet – those containing aluminum (Pyrope, Almandine, and Spessartine) and those containing calcium (Uvarovite, Grossular, and Andradite).  The aluminum members can be found blended and the calcium members can be found blended but the aluminum and calcium members are seldom found blended together. 

Garnet can range in many colours, not just red.  The hardness varies from 6.5 to 7.5, with the softer garnets being green in colour.

2017 Bowls for Beds Collingwood

Home Horizon Bowls for Beds fundraiser is being held on April 23, 2017 at 12 pm, Georgian Bay Hotel and Conference Centre, 10 Vacation Inn Drive, Collingwood.  Tickets are $30.00 per person.

Admission includes access to soup tastings of approximately 20 gourmet soups and you may also choose a unique ceramic bowl, painted by local students that is yours to keep.

All funds raised will go to support Home Horizon's transitional housing services in the Southern Georgian Bay Area.
