ARIES BIRTHSTONE CITRINE

Today was are highlighting Citrine which known as the "success" stone and for its abundance qualities. It is also associated with happiness and is said to increase and clarify personal power and energy.

 

Citrine is used to removing toxins and is said to be helpful with overcoming addictions.

 

Citrine is connected to the Solar Plexus chakra.

ARIES BIRTHSTONE - AVENTURINE

Aventurine is one of the many birthstones or sunstones of Aries which include but not limited to Amethyst, Anyolite, Apache Tears, Aquamarine, Bloodstone, Citrine, Diamond, Dravite, Emerald, Fire Agate, Jasper, Magnesite, Magnetite, Ruby, Sapphire, and Stilbite.  Topaz is the Talismanic stone for Aries.

 

Aventurine is part of the Quartz / Chalcedony family containing small flakes or scales which can give it a glistening effect. The inclusions are usually Muscovite Mica but can be Hematite or Goethite. Aventurine has a hardness of 6.5 to 7. Commonly, Aventurine comes in many varying shades of green but can also be found in the colours of orange, brown and grey.

 

The perfect match for Aries, Aventurine is associated with leadership qualities.

 

In general, Aventurine is associated with abundance, opportunity and luck.

 

It is said that Aventurine assists in emotional and mental healing. It has been used to calm tempers and as a love stone. Aventurine is known to attract harmony.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

 JADE

In honour of St. Patrick’s day we are highlighting beautiful Jade which is a combination of Nephrite and Jadeite and has a hardness of 6 to 7.

 

Jade is known as the dream stone. It is said to bless everyone it touches and offers peace through strength. Jade is also known as the healing stone and a talisman for those who heal.

 

Metaphysically, carry or wear Jade to restore energy. This stone is known as an abundance stone and to bring harmony and emotional balance.

CARNELIAN

Carnelian is chalcedony quartz and has a hardness of 6.5 to a 7 on the Mohs scale.

 

Carnelian is said to be a grounding and stabilizing stone.  It is said to have high energy making it a motivational stone.

 

In ancient times, Carnelian was used as an amulet or talisman. Carnelian is the stone used metaphysically to help remove fear and to create courage. It is also used for concentration and to calms anger.

BLACK PEARLS

Pearl is one of the most ancient of gemstones and over time have been the birthstone of February, April, June, July and November.

 

Astrologers have linked pearls to the Moon which is the energy of our emotions. Pearls have been referred to as the teardrops of the Moon.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY - MOONSTONE

In honour of International Women’s Day, we have decided to highlight Moonstone, a wonderful representative of the feminine.  There are varying types of Moonstone and today’s highlighted stone, Rainbow Moonstone, is the most sought-after variety.

 

Moonstone is associated with emotional energies and representative of the feminine energy. Moonstone is known as the stone of intuition, mystery and did I say emotions. It is also known as the stone of Goddess energy.

GARNET, PISCES SUNSTONE

As promised, we are focusing on the sun sign of Pisces.  The Pisces birthstones (also known as the sunstones) are aquamarine, amethyst, bloodstone, garnet, clear quartz, and sapphire.  The talisman for Pisces is ruby.

FEBRUARY MYSTICAL BIRTHSTONE - BLOODSTONE

Amethyst and Bloodstone are the two birthstones of February. The traditional birthstone is Amethyst.  Please see our February 1 post for information on Amethyst.

 

Bloodstone is the Mystical birthstone. Within the month of February, we will experience both Aquarius and Pisces sun signs. Amethyst is a sunstone of both Aquarius and Pisces. Now that we are in the sign of Pisces we will look further into the birthstone/sunstones for Pisces in the coming days.

 

Today we are highlight Bloodstone.

 

Bloodstone is the mineral Heliotrope which is a variety of Jasper or chalcedony.  Bloodstone has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.

 

Jasper, as a whole, in ancient times, was worn by shamans and kings as it is a powerful protection stone and helps to ground.

 

Jasper is known as the supreme nurturer and its energy is slow and continual.

 

Bloodstone is said to specifically draws strength and vitality and is known to assists us in being loving and compassionate. It is said to assist with courage, living in the moment and calming the mind.

Amethyst is one of the most popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.

 

Amethyst is a stone associated with calm, sincerity, protection and purification and its energies are also associated with the psychic realm.

 

Amethyst comes from the Greek word “methustos” which can be translated as intoxicated. This stone has been used for centuries in association with sobriety and is also used for other addictions. It is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings.
