CELESTITE (CELESTINE)

Celestite has a hardness of 3 to 3.5 on the Mohs scale. Its colours include blue, orange, light brown, green/blue and clear. Do not leave Celestite in direct sunlight as its colour will fade.

 

Celestite is known as the Angel or angelic stone and is said to connect us to divine energy.

 

Angelic guidance and wisdom is said to be called upon when praying or meditating with Celestite. Celestite is used to assist with astro travel and is said to be the perfect tool for developing physic abilities.

 

Celestite is used metaphysically for overcoming fear, stress, obsessive tendencies and anxiety.

CALCITE & AGATE

Calcite has a hardness of 3 on the Mohs scale and ranges in colour from colourless to all colours of the rainbow plus.

 

Agate is a banded stone which makes it stand out from any other Chalcedony.  It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.

 

Calcite is used as an amplifier and cleanser particularly of unwanted energies. It is said to use Calcite to recognize and move beyond old habits and beliefs. Orange Calcite in particular is said to have creative energies and to give us the motivation and inspiration to push forward. It is also associated with wealth and abundance.

 

Agate is a slow and low vibrational stone. Sure but steady, its energetic effects will take time to manifest but will have wonderful long term benefits.

 

Agate is used as a protective and harmonizing stone to relieves anxiety and stress. It is said to bring balance and strength, and to heal emotionally. Agate’s energies are also said to strengthen the body as well as to help us with our connection to the earth (grounding).

LABRADORITE

As the name suggests, Labradorite was discovered in Labrador, Canada. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.

 

Labradorite has a wonderful metallic reflective quality when light hits it on specific angles It is known for its lovely flashes of colour. Labradorite has been associated with or compared to the aurora borealis. The pieces in our example today reflect wonderful blue, green and yellow tones.

 

Labradorite is said to enhance our intuitive and mental abilities as well as our ability to open to new ideas. Metaphysically, this stone is used to assist with dream recall.

CITRINE & AMBER

Today we are highlighting Citrine and Baltic Amber showcased in these lovely drop earrings created with copper.

 

Citrine has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and is from the quartz family. The colour of citrine can vary from light yellow to a light orange-yellow. Most citrine on the market is heated amethyst which may have been treated naturally by Mother Nature or may have been treated by we humans.  Heated Amethyst, sold as citrine, can range in colour from dark yellow to a dark red-yellow.  Smokey quartz can also be treated to turn yellow. According to minerals.net, all heat-treated “citrine” has a red tint. Some very light natural Citrine can be sold under the name of “Lemon Quartz”.

 

Citrine is known as the "success" stone and for its abundance qualities. It is also associated with happiness and is said to increase and clarify personal power and energy.

 

Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin that is used similar to any crystal, mineral or stone in jewellery creation.  Baltic Amber has a hardness ranging from 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale.

 

Baltic Amber is associated with desire, sensuality and romantic tenderness. It is said that it is used to find lasting love.

Charoite is a silicate mineral with a hardness of 4.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.  It comes is a variety of purples and can contain black, green and orange as well.

 

Charoite is known as a stone of transformation. Its energies are said to help us to see clearly and to turn negative emotions into positive ones.

TRIDACNA (with Waxing Moon)

Tridacna beads are made from saltwater clam shells and are white.

 

Tridacna is known as one of the Seven Treasures of Buddhism.

 

Metaphysically, Tridacna is worn for protection and is said to enhances our magnetic field and enhance wisdom.

 

Tridacna is used to stabilize moods and finding balance mentally.  It is said to be a perfect choice for assisting with feelings of annoyance and to eliminate worry.
