In celebration of entering the sun sign Cancer, we are highlighting the sunstone Pearl. A pearl is a growth formed within the shell of a pearl oyster or other types of mollusk. Pearl is one of the most ancient of gemstones and can be found in many colours from white to black (dark hues such as grey, charcoal, metallic and dark purple). Pearls have a hardness of 2.5 and as a result, scratch easily.
Pearls over the years have been the
birthstone of February, April, June, July and November. Astrologers have linked pearls to the Moon
which is the energy of our emotions. Pearls have been referred to as the
teardrops of the Moon.
In Astrology, it is said that anyone with a
misaligned moon should wear jewellery made of pearls. By doing so, it is said
that love with be enhanced and trust with spouse or partner will be built.
Pearls have been traditionally used to
assist with sex drive and are said enable us to accept love and to see the good
within us and within others.
Pearls are the stone of choice for brides
due to their association with partnerships and love.
