GARNET

Garnet has been used in jewellery since the Bronze Age (in the third millennium BC)  Garnet comes in an array of colours from the classic red to red/violet, ambers, oranges, yellows and greens.  Today’s highlighted garnet is a deep red which only reflects back under light. Garnet which has a hardness of 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale.

 

Garnet is associated with love and passion and is known as the stone of commitment. Garnet is used to amplify and it is said to draw the qualities we are looking for in a relationship such as trust and devotion. It has been said that its energy bring luck with love.

ROSE QUARTZ

Rose quartz as suggested by its name is a member of the Quartz family and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.  The colour is usually muted but occasionally can be found as a vivid pink. Rose quartz is generally not treated.

 

Rose quartz is known as the stone of love - love for others AND love for self. It is said to be a crystal of high energy and unconditional love for any situation.

 

Rose quartz is used for self-esteem and self-worth. Its loving energies is said to teach us to apply this love to ourselves. This in turn assists us with our own self-worth.

Rose quartz is known as being calming and perfect for crisis.  It is said to assist in learning how to accept change and deal with unexpressed emotions and grief.

PEARL (SUN SIGN CANCER)

In celebration of entering the sun sign Cancer, we are highlighting the sunstone Pearl. A pearl is a growth formed within the shell of a pearl oyster or other types of mollusk. Pearl is one of the most ancient of gemstones and can be found in many colours from white to black (dark hues such as grey, charcoal, metallic and dark purple).  Pearls have a hardness of 2.5 and as a result, scratch easily.

 

Pearls over the years have been the birthstone of February, April, June, July and November.  Astrologers have linked pearls to the Moon which is the energy of our emotions. Pearls have been referred to as the teardrops of the Moon.

 

In Astrology, it is said that anyone with a misaligned moon should wear jewellery made of pearls. By doing so, it is said that love with be enhanced and trust with spouse or partner will be built.

PEACH MOONSTONE

Moonstones come in a variety of colors range from colorless to gray, brown, yellow, green, or pink. The clarity ranges from transparent to translucent. Moonstone is from the Feldspar family and has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale.

 

Today we are highlighting Peach Moonstone. 

 

Moonstone is said to be a stone of intuition, emotion and mystery. It is known as the stone of Goddess energy.

 

Peach Moonstone highlights feminine energies and said to assist in soothing stress and stabilizing emotions.

 

Peach Moonstone in particular is said to have gentle loving energy and is used to comfort during worry and stress. Its energies are associated with creativity, psychic abilities, the cycle of life, passion and dreams.
