As mentioned earlier this week, September has several birthstones including agate, moonstone, peridot, sapphire, sardonyx and zircon. Today we are highlighting Agate, which is from the quartz family. Agate has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale and comes in a variety of colours and bands. Our featured agate today is “Black Agate”.
Black Agate is a stone said to assist us in
dealing with stress and to help us remain calm resulting in inner strength and
emphasizes courage. Black Agate could be
called the worry stone.
As with most black stones and minerals,
Black Agate is a grounding tool and is associated with our root chakra.
Black Agate is also associated with
fertility and the reproductive organs. It is a perfect energy choice for
pregnancy and menopause.
