For to past four weeks we have touched on Pisces’ birthstones (also known as the sunstones) which are aquamarine, amethyst, bloodstone, jade, clear quartz and sapphire. The talisman for Pisces is ruby.
Today we close out our look at Pisces by highlighting Amethyst which is
also the birthstone of February.
Amethyst is from the quartz family and has
a hardness of 7.
Beautiful Amethyst is one of the most
popular of the healing stones and is considered the master healer.
Amethyst is a stone associated with
sincerity, protection and purification. This is a calming stone.
Amethyst's energies are also associated
with the psychic realm.
Amethyst comes from the Greek word
methustos which can be translated to intoxicated. This stone has been used for
centuries in association with sobriety. It is also used for other addictions,
and it is said that Amethyst assists with the elimination of cravings.
In healing, Amethyst is not only used on
those being healed but is worn by the healer. Amethyst is said to assist with
headaches as well as assists and stimulates the immune system.
Amethyst is associates with the crown
chakra.
