HEMATITE, AMBER & CLEAR CRYSTAL

We refer to this piece as our pain control bracelet.  It has been created with Hematite, Clear Quartz and Baltic Amber. 

Hematite is an iron oxide with trace amounts of titanium and has a hardness of 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.  It is a myth that Hematite is magnetic on its own.  Hematite is only magnetic if it contains enough magnetite.  

Crystal quartz has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and is the most common mineral found on our planet.  

Baltic Amber which has a hardness of 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale is a fossilized tree resin but it is used as any other crystal, stone or mineral in jewellery. 

Hematite is grounding, protective and enhances expansion, peace and harmony. Hematite harmonizes the spirit, mind and body. It stimulates memory, concentration and focus. It is used to assist with addictions and is well known to help with blood supply.  It is effective in dealing with pain because it maintains the charge of nerve cells.  Hematite is also beneficial for leg cramps and anxiety.

When Amber is worn against the skin, the amber is warmed and as a result, releases small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid). The oils are absorbed through the skin and boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and are an analgesic used for pain. Baltic Amber also assists with varicose veins and increases blood circulation.

Clear Crystal quartz is an amplifier, particularly of the white energy of our higher self. It is said to assist us in achieving clarity in our communications as well as our own personal thoughts. Clear crystal quartz has been added to this creation to heighten the healing abilities of the amber and hematite.

SUMMER

 - Mother of Pearl, Pearl, Abalone, Aquamarine and Shell

What better way to bring on summer then to honour life-giving water and all that comes from it.  We have created this piece with a variety of stones and shells with gratitude for the warmth and water.

Mother of Pearl is an aid to heighten intuition, psychic sensitivity, and imagination. It attracts prosperity and good fortune.

Pearl enables us to accept love and to see the good within us and within others.

Aquamarine may not come from the waters but it is a perfect reflection of the colour of water. This stone helps us to calmly speak our truth and to have courage. The keyword for Aquamarine is Courage. It brings us hope and helps us to experience peace.

Abalone is known to enhance our feeling of peace, compassion, and love. Abalone is calming and soothing.

Shell is used for discovery, growth and calm.

ARTISAN SWIRL EARRINGS

These lovely free flow swirling wire earrings have been adorn with pearl and faceted bicone crystal

A pearl is a growth formed within the shell of a pearl oyster or other types of mollusk. The crystals are man-made and created by various companies such as Swarovski in Austria. 

Freshwater pearls are said to enable us to accept love and to see the good within self and within others.   Pearls are the stone of choice for brides due to their association with partnerships and love. Pearls have been traditionally used to assist with sex drive. 

The faceted crystals have the energies of glass.  Glass brings positive energy, hope, joy and good luck.  Because of the prism effects, it is believed that these crystals draw in the positive and reflect out the negative.   Crystals carry energies of transformation and rebirth.

Pearls are associated with the heart chakra.  The colour of the crystal used in any given piece of jewellery will correspond with the energies of the colour representative of the chakras.  The clear crystal in our highlighted earrings would harmonize all chakras.

BLACK AGATE

Agate, which is from the quartz family, has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 and comes in a variety of colours and bands.   Our featured agate today is “Black Agate”.

Black Agate is a stone said to assist us in dealing with stress and to help us remain calm. This provides inner strength and emphasizes courage.  It could be called the worry stone.

As with most black stones and minerals, Black Agate is a grounding tool and is associated with our root chakra.

Black Agate is also associated with fertility and the reproductive organs. It is a perfect energy choice for pregnancy and menopause. 

The moon which represents our emotions was an ideal choice to accompany the black agate. 

The circular design of the pendant represents emotional cycles and energy. 

The Lunar charm could be replaced with another charm such as a fertility goddess for example to focus on the fertility energies.  The choices are endless.

MONTANA AGATE

Montana Agate (also known as Moss Agate) is usually creamy light yellow to almost a blue clear colour which can appear almost waxy. Within the agate will be manganese oxide which creates the moss like colours ranging from browns to reds but mostly blacks.  Montana Agate has a hardness of 7.

Montana Agate is a balancing stone which helps us to connect to Mother Earth and assists with balancing our emotions. It helps us to feel balanced within ourselves.

Montana Agate is a powerful healer.

Montana Agate promotes good fortune. It is a wonderful stone for Artists as it helps us with creation and is inspirational.

FLUORITE

 Fluorite has a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale and is a form of calcium fluoride.  This mineral can range in colour from clear to black.  Fluorite is naturally clear but impurities are what give Fluorite its range of colour.  The most popular colour of Fluorite in jewellery is purple and then green.

Fluorite is said to provide mental focus, assist in the processing and retention of information.  It has been called the aptitude stone. 

Fluorite is also a highly protective stone used for grounding and balancing spiritually. Fluorite increases intuitive abilities and links us to the universal conscious energies when working with our upper Chakras.  

Physically, Fluorite is said to strengthen bones and teeth, and lessens pain associated with arthritis.

ARAGONITE

Aragonite is a calcium carbonate which is very similar to Calcite.  Aragonite can range in colour from colourless to white, brown, grey, yellowy red, pink, orange, purpley green and blue.  Aragonite has a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the mohs scale.

Aragonite reduces anger and stress. It is said to increases energy, boost self-confidence and feelings of self-worth.   It is known to calm and centre.

Metaphysically, Aragonite assists with recall of past lives.

Aragonite is a grounding stone and renounced for creating a connection with Mother Earth.  It is associated with the base chakra.

MOONSTONE - JUNE BIRTHSTONE

Keeping with the birthstones of June, today we are highlighting magical Moonstone.  There are varying types of Moonstone and today’s highlighted stone, Rainbow Moonstone, is the most sought after.   

Moonstone is from the Feldspar family and has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale. 

Moonstone is associated with emotional energies and representative of the feminine energy.  Moonstone is a stone of intuition, mystery and did I say emotions.   It is known as the stone of Goddess energy. 

Rainbow Moonstone with its wonderful reflective qualities is said to direct light into our human and spiritual being.  This specific Moonstone is associated with harmony, creativity, balance and hope. 

Moonstone is an ideal talisman for sensitive children.

It should be noted that children and women may need to remove Moonstone jewellery during the full moon.  If you feel your emotions are exaggerated or you are highly sensitive, it is suggested that you remove any Moonstone jewellery until the full moon’s energy begins to wane.

PEARLS – June Birthstone

June is now upon us and we are going to focus on Pearls, one of the birthstones of June.

Pearl is one of the most ancient of gemstones. Today, we are highlighting the pearl which is referred to as black.  The Pearl can be found in many dark hues such as grey, charcoal, metallic and dark purple.  Pearls have a hardness of 2.5 and as a result, scratch easily.

Pearls over the years have been the birthstone of February, April, June, July and November.  Astrologers have linked pearls to the Moon which is the energy of our emotions.  Pearls have been referred to as the teardrops of the Moon.

Today, pearls are linked to feminine wisdom, faith, purity, charity and spiritual transformation. It is not co-incidence that many brides wear pearls.
