In our post yesterday, we mentioned that Howlite is dyed and
sold as Turquoise. The stone in today’s
highlight piece is called African Turquoise.
African Turquoise is not actually true turquoise but is teal Jasper mined
in Africa. It has the same structure and
colour tones as turquoise. African
Turquoise has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale. African Turquoise can range in colour from
emerald to teal blue. The word
“Turquoise” is derived from French and is translated as “Turkish Stone”.
African Turquoise is a transformational and evolutionary
stone. It is said to assists us in
moving forward and being open to new ideas and concepts. It helps us to be open to change, growth and
new possibilities.
African Turquoise is associated with wisdom.
If you are seeking direction for your higher self and
greater good, this is the stone of choice.
African Turquoise is associated with the Third Eye Chakra.
