Petrified wood is a fossilized wood but the organic materials of the wood have been replaced by minerals such as Jasper and Chalcedony. It has a hardness of 6.5 to 7.
Like most other fossils, petrified wood is a grounding and
stabilizing stone. Petrified wood has a
positive effect on business and the world around us because its energies
attract harmony and organization.
Petrified wood and other fossils are traditionally used to
do work with past life issues.
Petrified wood is an excellent compliment (either through
wearing it or meditating with it) for those living in the city and do not have
the opportunity to connection with Nature.
Petrified Wood is associated with the root chakra and also
the Third Eye.
I am frequently asked to create wrapped stones which can be
worn by both men and woman. I believe
most any wrapped stone can be worn by any gender. In traditional thinking, however, this is a
perfect example of a unisex pendant.
