PEARL – June Birthstone

June has three main birthstones, Pearl, Moonstone and Alexandrite.   On June 9, we highlighted Moonstone.  Today we are going to focus on Pearls.

Pearl is one of the most ancient of gemstones.   The Pearl can be found in many different colours including white, cream, champagne, varying gray hues, black, purple, pink, green, blue and brown.  Pearls have a hardness of 2.5 and as a result, scratch easily.

Pearls over the years have been the birthstone of February, April, June, July and November.  Astrologers have linked pearls to the Moon which is the energy of our emotions.  Pearls have been referred to as the teardrops of the Moon.

Today, pearls are linked to feminine wisdom, faith, purity, charity, partnerships, love and spiritual transformation. It is not co-incidence that many brides wear pearls. 

Freshwater pearls are said to enable us to accept love and to see the good within us and within others.

The pearl is the 10th stone in the 12 Sobriety Step Stones (Spiritual Recovery Jewellery).

Pearls are associated with the heart chakra.

JUNE’S BIRTHSTONE, MOONSTONE

June has three main birthstones, Pearl, Moonstone and Alexandrite. 

Today we are highlighting magical Moonstone.  There are varying types of Moonstone and today’s highlighted stone, Rainbow Moonstone, is the most sought after.   

Moonstone is from the Feldspar family and has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale. 

Moonstone is associated with emotional energies and representative of the feminine.  Moonstone is a stone of intuition, mystery and did I say emotions.   It is known as the stone of Goddess energy. 

Rainbow Moonstone with its wonderful reflective qualities is said to direct light into our human and spiritual being.  This specific Moonstone is associated with harmony, creativity, balance and hope. 

Moonstone is an ideal talisman for sensitive children.

It should be noted that children and women may need to remove Moonstone jewellery during the full moon.  If you feel your emotions are exaggerated or you are highly sensitive, it is suggested that you remove any Moonstone jewellery until the full moon’s energy begins to wane. 

Physically, Moonstone is said to help the reproductive system.

Moonstone is associated with the third eye and crown chakras.

GREEN FLUORITE

Fluorite has a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale and is a form of calcium fluoride.  This mineral can range in colour from clear to black.  Fluorite is naturally clear but impurities are what give Fluorite its range of colour.  The most popular colour of Fluorite in jewellery is purple and then green.

Fluorite is said to provide mental focus, assist in the processing and retention of information.  It has been called the aptitude stone. 

Fluorite is also a highly protective stone used for grounding and balancing spiritually. Fluorite increases intuitive abilities and links us to the universal conscious energies when working with our upper Chakras.  

Physically, Fluorite is said to strengthen bones and teeth, and lessens pain associated with arthritis.

Our pendant is a wonderful green Fluorite which is said to detoxify and energize all of the chakras, particularly the Heart or Throat chakra.

AMAZONITE

Amazonite is part of the feldspar family and has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale.

This is a soothing stone that balances the male and female energies. It helps us to see both sides of all issues and its energies are said to assist us in being calm after emotional trauma.

It is known as the stone of courage and truth.

Keep Amazonite in or under your pillowcase to assist with clear dreams.

Wear Amazonite after illness or surgery to aid with healing.

Amazonite heals the heart and throat chakras.

It should be noted to handle Amazonite with care as it easily chips or cracks.
