Citrine has a hardness of 7 and is from the quartz family.

The colour of citrine can vary from light yellow to a light orange-yellow. Most citrine on the market is heated amethyst which may have been treated naturally by mother nature or may have been treated by man. Heated Amethyst, sold as citrine, can range in colour from dark yellow to a dark red-yellow. Smokey quartz can also be treated to turn yellow. According to minerals.net, all heat treated “citrine” has a red tint. Some very light natural Citrine is also sold under the name of “Lemon Quartz”.

Citrine’s energies are associated with abundance and it is known as the success stone.  It is also associated with happiness.

Citrine increases and clarifies personal power and energy.

Citrine is used to removing toxins and helpful with overcoming addictions.

It should be noted that Citrine may intensify aggressiveness in some individuals.
